Atlanta State Trooper Sgt. William Frederick Black
8’ tall. Georgia Public Safety Headquarters, Atlanta, GA.
Sgt. Black was the first trooper killed in the line of duty. A WWII veteran with less than a year on the job, he was shot and killed during a traffic stop on December 20, 1940.
